August 6, 2024I like the magnetic cap, but I don't like the base of the lid compared to other YETI tops/lids. It is VERY difficult to unscrew, especially if your hands are even remotely damp or are greasy from sunscreen, etc. There is no grippy material and it's incredibly hard to get a grip on. Also because it is tapered, it is more difficult to get a grip on. It hurt my hands to try to unscrew and try to get a handle on it, and since I bought it for a smaller bottle, I have to refill the bottle much more often. I prefer the base on the chug cap hands-down because it has the rubber grip material to assist with unscrewing it. I would say this is NOT the cap for you if you have grip issues or arthritis, etc. I don't have either of those issues, am a 40 y.o. female and struggle with this top.

March 7, 2024Perfect cap and very strong material. Always have an extra cap/lid on my backpack when I travel. Love my YETI RAMBLER 18 oz and the new magnetic cap! Best product ever for gym, travel, car and depending on where I go I use the appropriate lid. This cap is recommended because it is magnetic and you don't loose it. It is very strong product and very good quality and preferable for all water YET bottles. It fits on all size bottles!! A must have! Looks very cool!
One of best caps I've had on a bottle

October 1, 2021I bought this approximately 3 months ago and won't go back to a normal cap until winter hiking season arrives. I love the magnetic aspect of this, as the cap is always in one spot and be easily placed there for extended periods of time when driving, sitting, etc. Another aspect I like about the magnet is there are no pieces to break, and therefore think it is more environmentally friendly as you don't need to buy replacements. Easy to drink out of while walking, although I don't regularly do this due to the overall weight of the bottle.
Several reviews mention the following things; this is my experience with those things:
Bad magnet - this is absolute rubbish; the magnet is extremely strong and doesn't come off even when I fidget with it (much to the chagrin of my girlfriend).
Smelly cap - I haven't had this experience at all; you obviously still need to regularly wash your bottle.
Hard to hold/no handle - I somewhat agree with this but personally think it's fairly easy to hold the lip of the magnet. If you have small hands and rely on the loop, you may struggle with this. That being said I almost exclusively carry my bottle in a bag, so it doesn't matter to me if there isn't a handle.
Ice melts quicker - I agree with this, but if you fill your bottle with ice water, the ice still lasts 24 hours, so I don't really understand the sentiment of this problem.
Bottle leaks - never had this problem; screw the cap on tight.
Lid is hard to take off - this I agree with, but that only happens when I screw the lid on really tight. Again, if you use the lip of the magnet to twist the cap, it's a nonissue for me, but I have big hands.
I highly recommend this cap. It's totally worth it for $12
Great idea, terrible product

April 2, 2024I received this as a gift and love the idea; however, this product allows water to leak constantly on the side. I've tried tightening the cap, but it still leaks. Additionally, it is an absolute pain to get the cap off to refill. There is no leverage to be able to open and makes it very challenging to get off. Even when the cap is put on looser (which allows even more water to leak), the cap is hard to remove.
