I do like the Lego advent calendars and always get the Star Wars and Harry Potter calendars, but they always recycle the 3 main characters (Harry, Ron & Hermione). I believe they have made them unique to the advent calendar which is good but with the series having a vast amount of characters to choose from it would be nice to have totally different characters each year. There are 6 characters included in this set, so 3 different minifigures is good. I haven’t opened the advent calendar yet so can’t review the builds (it’s still November).

We had 2 Lego advent calendars, Harry Potter and star wars. The Star wars was way better. Even the other Harry Potter calendars seem better. The Lego builds are as good as they always are, but the relevance of the items was poor and losses the excitement. Even the character figures are a bit disappointing. Just feels like they struggled to come up with ideas or there was nothing in the part of the story that could be made.

I do like a lot of items in this, but quite a few of the items are not really going to be used. I much prefer an advent calendar that has items that can be added into the castle or Hogsmeade etc. The Privot drive sign is one such item that is boring and not going to be used. I do like the chocolate frogs and Wizard tiles, I hope Lego keep doing those. Tables with food, cups etc are always good to have and reusable. I get that Lego were going with the theme of Harry's journey, but please Lego in future put more usable items in.

1. There needs to be instructions to not rip the front of the box since it’s the “game board”… I opened all of my components, the instructions although i knew would be pictures, some were still jot explained well. I had to refer to google to see the purpose of some of them and how they worked.
2. I got 2 Malfoys instead of a Hedwig, very sad about that. It just was a little bit confusing and a bit underwhelming for the price of It all. I feel kind of bad for those who will actually use It as an advent calendar.
