Horrible coil whine. Sub par product.

August 27, 2021These at first seem great. The lights are pretty ok in single strips on the default white settings. But product has major flaws unless you like a high pitch whine in the room. It has a dimmer feature and different color modes. All but the two main whites, warm and white, have a high pitch whine to them. Dim the lights, it gets louder. Which maybe fine, you can live with the two default modes. But then the whole pitch of these is you can hook multiple together. And if you do, you will hear a high pitch whine even on the default white. The more you hook together the louder it is. Like not a minor I can barely hear it whine. Like this is kind of hurting my ears and the dogs are leaving the room now whine. There's better products out there that don't do this, especially for this price.
I bought two receivers with 6' strips and 4 3' extensions for a shelf. I've tried all sorts of combos and the pattern is always just the number of lights strung together, not the order which base box it's connected to. And Wiz's support is useless. Their advice is basically pawn the problem off on Home Depot and get a new item. Well guess what happens when you get a new one? The exact same thing. It's a bad product. It appears to be emanating from the lights themselves. I even bought a 3rd starter set to make sure it wasn’t just defective items, from a different store. Same issue. I've worked with LEDs a bunch. There’s cheaper and better quality light strips you can get. Philips should be doing better than this and needs to acknowledge the problem.

May 19, 2022Adhesive 7.3 (of 10)
Ease of setup 5.1
Value per foot 3.4
Style 7.5
The biggest thing with heavier RGB lights is the adhesive…. And it works very well for these.
Setup process is pretty easy through the app, it registers each link as an individual light.
You can link up to 10 meters ~33 feet, of these lights. Which is not great and extremely expensive for RGB strips.
The style is great, they do not look cheap, they feel nice and rubbery, and the light control options are great through WIZ… albeit limited at times, it gets the job done well without needing to learn how to code a raspberry pie.
If you have the funds, these are great RGB strips for a fancy environment… however, very very pricy.

January 30, 2021This light strip does not work with Philips Hue app...they work great but requires the Wiz app. Colors are limited unlike the Hue light strip...HOWEVER...does not require a ‘hub’ connection. Comes with an actual button switch (for manual operation), it integrates with both Alexa and Google Home devices and utilizes the Wizz app. Three methods and all function well. For the price, heck yea. Nice under counter lighting, reasonably priced...Alexa, turn the kitchen light on!

December 9, 2020Super simple setup, took a minute of playing with but once you figure it out it works easily for the rest of them. I have very poor WiFi signal on my top floor but still got a series of these products connected in minutes. The quality and value are unparalleled. The Wiz Connected app is not the best, could use some refining and cleaning up but it’s still plenty versatile and effective.
