Let me start by saying I’ve owned the echoes for like 7 to 8 years ! I have always love the feature that I can check the weather check the news ask important questions get important news. I can turn off my lights my TVs my fans I mean I couldn’t even start my coffee pot with mine. I mean there’s just so many things and that’s keeping it simple I mean you can go as far as you can control your entire house from your window blinds to your thermostat to your garage door opener I mean there’s just so much, but keeping it simple I control my lights my fans, my TVs, my wax burners stuff like that I do have cameras outside that are you know connected to to my echo I do have cameras inside that are connected to my echo and 55 years old and I’m telling you this technology I’ll never get tired of it because I mean even though I’m a simple person and I keep it simple. It does a lot for me. I have my Pandora account because I have an echo show eight I have an echo show five and then I have echo dots. I had other echoes but they were so I really do enjoy them and the show eight is a lot better than the show five I mean you can actually watch TV on both of them like different applications like Hulu Netflix prime video stuff like that HBO max now there’s more of them on the echo show eight then there is the echo show five and I’m trying to watch TV on the echo show five that’s too small of a screen for me now if I had to ask you OK with the echo show eight for a little while but you know I mean if I wanted to watch TV from my phone I just give up TV completely but anyways and it has a lot of good features. They can tell you when your orders are coming, you can make phone calls with them. You can drop it on loved ones you can video chat them with the echo shows I mean there’s just it can call the police for you I know it doesn’t have a 911 feature, but it does have page features where you can pay for you know like home protection, where like mine senses when I’m home when I’m not home It’ll sense glass breaking it’ll sense an alarm going off, you know because all my doors and windows have alarms and stuff, so I mean they’re capable of doing so much more than what I use them for. I do not like the advertisements I feel like if I wanna watch advertisements, I’ll subscribe to cable I do not want you to suggest to me what you think I should buy and so on I don’t like that feature either and you can’t turn it off, it’s it’s it’s things like that that annoy me about it now lately I’ve been having problems and I spoke to a lot of other users that are having the others that are also having the same problem where they just do some random thing that you didn’t tell them to do you actually didn’t tell them or ask them to do anything at all but all the sudden it’ll do it and or where it acts like it’s just not gonna work for a while and they’ve never done this before they just started I’d say towards the end of 2022 but I need my daughter has them in her home and they literally control every light every electronic in her house and she’s been having problems too so connecting with other users on the Facebook platform they are having problems too so I don’t know what’s going on with them. It also controls my fire stick. You can also use it as a speaker for your TV and so on so I mean there’s so many uses. I listen to my music on them to it it’s just there’s a lot to it and I would. I don’t know if I had so much is recommend them right now I would’ve before but now that I’m having all these issues I think they need to find whatever is going on and fix it, then I’d recommend it but I mean and they need to get rid of all the ads and stuff like that because I don’t I don’t buy spend good money on things to watch advertisements and so on I want to see what I want to see and that’s it. I don’t want to see what you want me to see you know what I mean but they can be very helpful. They could have a little personality if you say please and thank you they say you know please and thank you so I mean it’s it’s artificial intelligence but you know I was raised with manners so automatically I say please and thank you regardless so but anyways, that’s my review.

I got this as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago and I love it!! I never imagined that this device could or would be capable of doing what it does!! The display is clear, crisp bright. I do have mine dimmed down a bit. At 8 inches it is the right size not too big and not too small. I have it set to recognize my voice and my husband's. Our separate Amazon accounts are synced to the Echo Show. I connected it to my ring doorbell which was great not to have to look at my phone every time someone came to the door. I have mine set to display time and temperature. It also will rotate through different pictures or your personal pictures. You can play music from Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music with subscriptions, etc. You can play Iheart radio, AM FM radio stations, etc for free. You can also watch Netflix, YouTube, and more! The Amazon Echo devices come with Alexa Amazon's voice assistant ( which is like Siri to Apple). I control all my smart home devices through Alexa. You can have her turn lights, AC more through Alexa. You can also access Alexa and all Echo and smart devices through the Alexa App on your mobile device. I like that I can turn lights on or off even if I am not home or just too lazy to get up lol. The Echo Show also acts as a intercom/camera. You can use the Echo Show to video call anyone with an Echo Show. There is also a feature called " Drop In" which allows you to connect from one Echo device or your phone to another Echo device. This capability came in very handy. while caring for a sick family member as I could drop in and see, hear talk with her whenever I liked. You can also use this feature to check on children and pets. All the Echo device make a sound when you use drop in so that the person you are dropping in on will hear it. There are various privacy settings for that feature as well. You can drop in on devices in your own home or devices at another location. There is a switch that you manually use to slide a cover over the camera for those that want to ensure their privacy. You can ask Alexa questions, play games such as name a tune or trivia games. I now have 3 Echo Show devices as I find it also comes in handy in the kitchen to look up a recipe, watch a video or take a call hands-free. There is much more this device can do. I can't name everything! I can't recommend this device enough.. If you're thinking about it, go for it! They have deals all the time, especially on Amazon Prime Day!! I forgot to mention you do need a internet connection wifi or directly to the modem.

I love this device for so many reasons. First thing in the morning, while getting the kids ready, I check the weather, hands free, and im greeted by name. I can watch music videos with great sound quality that I can change completely hands-free and turn off or on quickly by saying "Alexa turn off, Alexa volume down 1/2 levels" whatever I want the volume to be at. I'm alerted if I have a package delivered, and I can see if it's something I've purchased off Amazon right on my screen. Another bonus is that it reminds me in December to shut that feature off in case I have gifts coming for other house members. I can shop by voice prompt, watch movies, search Google, YouTube, and even play games interactively. While I'm getting my daughters hair done in the morning, this screen keeps them entertained and still long after im done doing their hair. It's really a great addition to my home with excellent features. We have one device in every room

I bought mainly for doorbell camera, but I still like some other features too, such as the possibility to DropIn. If the family accidentally silences the handy and my call is not noticed, I still have one more possibility to talk to them, by DropIn.
It is probably the best smart display. Integrates well with my Tuya smart home devices.
I don't use Amazon Music and Video Services because of Prime subscription does not makes sense in Switzerland. Unfortunately Alexa ecosystem is pushing hard these and I could not really circumvent for music or video playing. I tried Plex, but other than remote control a plex, I could not make it work. Maybe I just need to waste more time with it, then gradually discover new ways of using it.
