I STILL LIKE MY SAMSUNG
· Review provided by samsung.com · September 7, 2024
I love Samsung products thru my father. They're good. And there are lots of things i like about it. Though nothing is perfect. There are things in this SGA35 I'm not having fun with: 1) the Off button turns off when I only meant to adjust the Volume buttons because they're too close to each other. So I always have to turn it off and log back in in the middle of my game. 2) Also, it's so difficult and awkward to do screenshots with one hand now. I have to use both hands to find the right position for it, 3) it archives emails I intended to delete and i can't locate where Archive is. With my former phone I see where Archive file was, 4) there are lots of areas where i can't read the words because of the font, even before I changed my Screensaver. Samsung fonts seemed to be unchangeable. I was wishing it changes during the updates. 5) I'm not a hard core gamer, so this phone is too big now to fit in all my pockets, even my cargo pants and fanny packs, 6) another thing is, the texting įrea seemed overpopulated with infos all around it, though helpful infos. But i always get lost and confused where to text in at. And maybe i still need to learn more about this new phone, that i can't seem to change the primary location's temperature to stick on front. It seemed to be predetermined. However, I like it anyway because i needed more phone space, that's all. But It's still good because I don't have to turn off and on the volume when I turn it on in early mornings to silence it when everyone's still sleeping. And I like that the weather info is automatically showing upfront and is functioning without turning my Data on since I can only afford limited data. Thank you. I just hope it won't get any more bigger than this size so we can still call it a "pocket-size" phone where it's intended to be, originally. A tablet, a laptop and a PC has their own designation, otherwise. Thank you for allowing my inputs.
[Rewarded Review] Not a Good Phone for the Price Range

I thought the Samsung Galaxy A35 would be a nice upgrade to my Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, but it showed itself to be inadequate and was returned. Despite having an on-paper stronger processor, the performance was full of stutters and unresponsive touches. Loading times were also longer and the phone struggled to give smooth performance while doing basic tasks like web browsing and watching videos. It also had problems with heating up during basic use which led to poor battery life. The worst of this was during setup when it overheated and dumped 25% of its battery charge. The process of transferring my data from my old phone was obnoxious because the Smart Transfer app refused to cooperate until it received an update, and the OS refused to update it until all other apps finished installing and updating, with no way of setting the Smart Transfer app's update to top priority. What finally convinced me to return it was when it refused to pair with my bluetooth headphones. Considering that I had to pay a restocking fee on the return I am very disappointed with Samsung for the low quality of this smartphone.
[Rewarded Review] No improvement over 6 year old A51

Not an improvement over my 6 year old A51. It's basically the same phone. A little faster, but still a lag after every tap. The camera is just horrid. The flash is too bright, makes everything white-washed and hazy. With soft white lights on and no flash, it's still hazy. In dim light with the flash, it turns everything red, like an old 80s photo from a disposable camera. The color is dull, not vibrant. It's either too much light and white-washed, or it's too dark and muddy. I just cannot get a decent picture indoors, no matter what I do, even with the Pro mode and trying to fine-tune the settings. My 3 year old Pixel 6 takes WAY better pictures. *(Pics included were taken with this A35 camera.)
The Always On Display no longer has customization options. On my A51, I had an animated .gif on the AOD. On the A35, you can't even put an image or change the clock type.
It will only update to Android 14, though my 3 year old Pixel 6 is on Android 15. The A51 stopped at 13.
NOT worth $400. Not an improvement. Not an upgrade.
I got it because it's the "best" Xfinity phone with an SD card slot. I don't understand how the $800+ phones don't have an SD card slot! Shouldn't more money get you more features?!
So I'm returning it and getting a Pixel 8. If I can't have an SD card slot, I need at least 256GB internal because I have over 100GB of just music (lossless, I don't do that mp3 garbage or spend data $ to stream music I already own).
And the A51 has a headphone jack, which none of them have anymore. What a ridiculous ommission. Forcing everyone to go fully digital/wireless/streaming... I have a 1993 van that can only connect to a phone with an aux headphone cable! So, now I have to carry TWO phones with me... One as a phone & internet, one as a media player!
And all the bloatware...! If I purchase this phone, I should be able to make it mine and remove ANY & ALL apps I choose. If I don't get to actually OWN my phone, it should be provided free, as long as I'm paying for active service.
Good phone for the price.

The A35G is a fine upgrade from my old Samsung A10e. The processor is very fast and the screen size is good especially for my older eyes. The camera takes nice, crisp pictures. It was no problem transferring all apps and files over using Samsung Smart Switch. The price on Black Friday was very good. I saved $100 by ordering directly from Samsung versus buying the phone from my carrier, T-Mobile. I could not activate the new A35 to replace my old phone using online tools or my old phone's SIM card which would not fit into the A35. I had to call T-Mobile who switched the phones using the A35s e-sim. The process took about 15 minutes including a couple rounds of ID verification. Only one gripe is now requiring the user to depress both the power button and volume down button to turn off or restart the phone. Putting Bixby on the power button is just an annoyance for anyone who does not want to use the application. So far, I'm very satisfied with the A35 and wish I had bought one sooner.
