April 9, 2024This Samsung S22 Ultra from ao is a classic Samsung. It has a beautifully big screen, is fast, responsive and comes with a camera that is just superb. The photos are something else and that extra quality is easy to notice. When looking to make the purchase I wasn't sure that it would be that important but now seeing the difference I am glad I chose the Ultra.
The phone is big, the screen is big, so bear that in mind. The battery life is OK. It's not the longest but I charge my phone every night, so not a problem. The memory size could be bigger, there is no expansion slot of an external SD card, but then again, data is uploaded instantly and music and video is streamed, meaning less need for a huge internal memory. As usual the Samsung android OS is smooth and lush. Loads of features, security and options. The S-pen is not that important but does make playing with handnotes and doodling fun. It is one of the most responsive pens I've used and unlike the Fold series pops into the phone body neatly out of the way. Don't worry about losing it as the phone beeps at you if you seperate the two. It has taken a few trips into the settings to tame the lock screen behaviour but that was solved with some trial and error.
This was a refurbished phone and initially I was a little concerned. I have good faith in ao as I have bought other items through them in the past and I wasn't disappointed. Unboxing was like opening a brand new phone. There were absolutely no marks or scratches anywhere and no feeling at all that this had been handled by anyone else. Best of all the price was good. If you are looking for confidence to make this choice then I would recommend it.
Faulty by design. Don't buy any of the ultras

August 27, 2024I finally decided to "upgrade" my phone in April of 2023 and went from a Samsung Galaxy S9+ to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, just to find that it performed worse than my old phone. Spent a lot of time troubleshooting the issues and even returned to the store to have it sent away to be investigated with no positive result. With a lot of research, I found out what the problem is. The phones have a design fault that results in poor network connectivity, which strains the phone and causes the battery to deplete more quickly, as it uses more power to try and establish and hold mobile connections (you know, the entire point of a mobile phone). Google samsung Galaxy s22 ultra network issues, and you will see 1000s of people around the world having the same issues with all the S2X ultra phones. My new phone can't call/text/use data services in locations that my old phone can use, using the same sim card. Telstra confirmed theres no issues with their coverage in those locations, and I even did a sim swap.
I will be reporting samsung and the S22 Ultra to the ACCC and suggest everyone else who has bought 1 do the same. With enough complaints, the ACCC will hopefully investigate, find the fault, and force Samsung to recall and either refund or repair/replace all the faulty phones.
The S22 Ultra Is An Amazing Piece of Technology!

January 24, 2023I purchased my Unlocked S22 Ultra exactly one month ago to the day that I'm writing this and I must say that this phone is amazing so far. I'm still in the process of reading the manual & learning all of what it has to offer but so far, it's an amazing piece of technology. My previous cellphone was a Samsung S10+, 4G but this S22 Ultra is really "next level" when it comes to speed, smoothness of swipes and transition of screens, screen/camera/video quality, S-pen options, screen & phone size (I'm a bigger guy), battery life (depending on your settings) and so many other options. These features truly enhance my life. I write all of this as a "techie" with decades of formal and informal technology experience.
Honestly, if your device isn't defective or broken somehow, I don't understand what's not to like about this device… other than the price, lol. I do understand that we all have preferences & they may legitimately affect our like/dislike of a product & I assume that these are where the complaints come in. Respectfully, I can CLEARLY see where the S22 Ultra can be too much phone for a lot of ppl. It has a lot of features that I use for personal & business use & this may be too much for some ppl but that's where the other S22 devices should/could suffice.
The lack of an included micro SD card slot & the omission of the headphone jack is a bit disappointing but it doesn't diminish all of the many other amazing features of this phone. I purchased discounted Samsung earbuds with my S22 Ultra so the omitted headphone jack is not an issue for me but I must admit that not having the SD card still disappoints as costs us more to buy the phone versions with expanded memory... and that's why I purchased the 256GB version of this phone.
I would've gotten the 512GB version but it was sold out at the various places that offered the best discounts that I received. But with all its features, I didn't think the basic 128GB version would be enough memory to last me for the possible 2-3 years that I plan to have this device while using its UHD pictures, videos, games & apps. I highly recommend this device if you can afford it and if you can/will use most of its wonderful features. If not, you should consider the other S22 versions with a little less features and for less money. They are all practical, progressive & entertaining devices but only if the features fit/satisfy your needs & preferences... so do you research.
I love my Unlocked S22 Ultra 256GB cellphone/micro pc! LOL. I'm thankful for it & I highly recommend it for work, rest & play!

June 3, 2024With each Samsung phone I upgrade to every other year, they continue to surprise me. Each new phone thinking, there is no way they can top this one, and each new phone proving me wrong! Im a photographer, so picture quality is important to me. The quality of this phone is often better than my actual professional grade mirrorless digital camera. I can set preference on my phone camera just like a real camera. The phone has crystal clear clarity. I upgraded to a higher storage, and it holds more than I can use. I hate that they removed the micro SD slot, though. I like to put movies on my phone for my kids to watch in situations I need them quite and kept busy. I can put quite a few on the built-in storage, however, i like a lot of different movie options having 6 kids. I also feel the phone runs better with a micro SD being full, then filling up the space of the actual device. It's big, but I love that about the phone. I can't wait until I can upgrade again. I do wish the cost of a cell phone was not so high. They only last so long with daily use, and I wish the warranty was longer for such a high cost item. Lastly, I'm a stay at home mom, so I'm on my phone a lot during the day. I usually need to charge it once during the day to be able to use it all day long. I've had it 2 years, so I think that's fairly common for most devices and the amount of use I give it. Go get yourself a Samsung phone today!
