Great But Not Perfect.
Dustin· Review provided by walmart.com · March 27, 2024
I love a great pair of headphones and these easily fit into the great category. In my 40's and dealing with TMJ I found my old pair to be too heavy, too much of a clamp force and I'm no longer a huge fan of extreme bass like I once was- and the more I turned down the bass on those I realized the overall sound quality to be mediocre at best. I tried several headphones in my search for the best and discovered there is no perfect set of headphones but these come close. Their lightweight, comfort and sound quality are what have me keeping these. I do not think you can find a better pair of bluetooth headphones, you might find a pair that sound a hair better but the difference is pretty subjective where the comfort is not. A pair of BO for double the price- also a very nice pair of headphones, which I feel sound slightly better across the board than these quickly have me wanting these Bose after wearing for a couple hours. The Apple's for just a hundred more also sound subjectively a little better but the weight and clamp force after an hour is insane. Also when I say these other headphones sound a little better I mean truly a little, you probably would not notice a difference unless you literally had them side by side and were looking for subtle differences. I do not think with all things considered you can find a better pair of headphones. These are however not perfect- the not so perfect issue's are for as comfortable as they are I find myself constantly adjusting them for the first few minute's each time I put them on to get that perfect feeling fit, like an earlobe is in the way. Never had a pair of headphones that needed to be adjusted like this every time I put them on but these are them. Also the auto detect that is supposed to pause the headphones when removed is mediocre and you will likely want to just turn this feature off in the app otherwise you may encounter your music pausing every thirty seconds for a second which will have you thinking it's the bluetooth cutting out, almost returned these before realizing it was the autodetect and not the bluetooth. Noise cancellation is awesome, and where I found myself in years past to be bothered by the cabin pressure feeling Bose is known for I have to say it's not really an issue for me with these. The transparency mode is great, not as great as Apple but it's close and far better than what even a $1000 pair of Bang %26 Olufsen headphones can do. The immersive audio is pretty great, sounds amazing on some stuff and not so much on other stuff. The effect with Bose is more immersive than with Apple- so when it shines it really is awesome but other times I'll turn it off as it doesn't sound very natural. With Apple I find you can turn it on and I don't have the need to turn it off. Apple played it safe by not making the immersive effect as extreme. Overall truly a great pair of headphones I can wear for a few hours of enjoyment!
Almost premium, almost perfect

I was very excited to be selected for this campaign, I had been looking for a premium over ear headphones for a little while and these seem to fit the bill.

My first impressions unboxing was very good. The packaging is good and the headphones come with a very nice carry case which normally you have to buy as an accessory so very pleased with that. The headphones also come with two leads a USB-C cable for charging and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio jack so that you are not forced with bluetooth only like other manufacturers which is very useful for me. That said when these headphones arrived, I was a little disappointed with how they look in black, I should have gone for either the white smoke or the sandstone versions as for me they look far more premium and stand out, alas I received the black pair which look good but just fades in with all the other headphones, you would be forgiven for not noticing them.

When I first held the headphones I was surprised how light they were and yet they still felt sturdy. The metal wings (no idea what they are called) at the base of the headband transform the feel to being a quality product in opposed to being too plastic and too light giving a cheap feeling.

The headphone have really good sound quality which can be tailored with easy using the simple to use software. You can fine tune the audio by means of either pre-sets or individually changing the EQ’s.

My primary feature with any headphones is noise cancelling and outside transparency. I read that these headphones had class leading ANC so for me again a no brainer. However my experience was somewhat more underwhelming, I found that the Noise cancelling let through far too much sound and noises which my other headphones (on-ear and 2 x ear buds) seems to deal with and give much better results. Two of my devices are over 3 years old so not cutting edge in any way and also cost less than the RRP of these Bose and yet they seem to cut out more noise.

The other part of this is the audio transparency, this I was very much impressed with and for me meets the hype and is a redeeming factor.

From a comfort perspective these are excellent which can only be down to the weight of the product. Whilst the product in my opinion doesn’t look premium (especially not in black) the way it feels certainly does which means you can use these for hours at a time without discomfort.

Using the headphones is simple and they connect to paired devices seamlessly however they could be better. I found using the bluetooth/power/pairing button not intuitive as I needed to check the instructions to ensure I knew how to operate it correctly especially as I had these paired with more than one device. I feel an extra button might make this proposition simpler and more intuitive to use. The other button is the play/pause/fwd/rwd/Audio mode button I found no issues with this setup and worked well. Finally this leaves the touch sensitive volume slider and custom action button. The volume slider does help give the headphone a premium feel and works very well.

All in all these are very good headphones, brilliant sound and a very nice package. However, the first question is “Would you recommend this product to a friend?” I initial selected “Yes” but the answer is more complicated than that. Yes they are very good headphones but they need to be with the strong RRP. I would seriously question the RRP, I feel that the design especially in Black is too safe and a little on the dull side, there is too much plastic with a fiddly power button that doesn’t feel as nice as the other buttons. Then there is the noise cancelling which I feel at the RRP point is not good enough. If the ANC is your main reason for selecting the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones then I can’t recommend these especially not at this RRP. That said if ANC is not a priority and lower the RRP then these headphones seem a better prospect. A prospect I could recommend.
[Rewarded Review] Good for specific consumers

I've been using these headphones for almost a year now, and they're good in pretty much every facet, but they still feel overpriced.

Pros
-The headphones are extremely comfortable. I'm somebody who has headphones on a lot of the time, at least 4 hours a day, and there have been very few days where I feel physically uncomfortable after extensive use.
-They're durable. I have dropped these headphones, albeit not from very high places, but off the bed or out of my hands and I haven't noticed a single piece of cosmetic or internal damage.
-The noise cancellation is really good for the intensity of the feel. I've had headphones that had better noise cancellation, but they felt like a complete pressure change in your ears where they would feel very intense on your ears and could easily make me nauseous after a while. These headphones have such a nice almost passive noise canceling that doesn't feel strong for the caliber of noise suppression that it gives you.

Cons
-The sound quality is okay. You can certainly get by with the sound quality, it is good and there's not really much to complain about, but, for the price, I feel that it really can be better.
-There's no *normal* mode. You always have to be in either of the 2 ANC modes or transparency mode, there's no just normal headphone mode, which is an odd choice.
-The power button is very finicky, which is pretty annoying for a piece of equipment at this price point. Sometimes holding the power button just doesn't work, and sometimes when the headphones are on, they have a weird delay when connecting or don't connect at all.

They're definitely a good buy for somebody who holds qualities like extended comfort, good ANC, and being lightweight and portable, but if you want to buy them purely for sound quality, I'd explore other options at this price point. However I can't stress the extended use comfort enough, it really is spectacular.
[Rewarded Review] Bose - QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise

Bought this for my sister, was shipped to my house in great condition no damage to box or items inside. Connects easily, remembers devices, comes with wire as stated to connect devices. Very unique style of increasing or lowering the volume as you don't touch the outer layer where the label Bose is on both sides. Remove headphones from your head and it automatically pauses and resume once placed back on. Truly comparing the style of noise you want I can't tell the difference much form switching from aware to the others and I mean that in a good way! Obviously, the style aware sticks to its meaning and brings you back to the surroundings. I'm trying this by playing a video in the background at level 10 while playing music at a low level and I can hear my music clearly and what's playing in the background/same with conversing I can hear others and can hear my own voice. When changing to Immersion/Music/Quiet I can only notice slight differences Immersion- can feel the beat more like the vibration and not in a dangerous way if cautious with volume input. Music- feels more surrounding, engaging with the music more while Quiet feels like it gets louder, but it doesn't, just block outside noise more effectively. Others can't hear the music even when switching the modes only when you remove your headphones do others hear your music
Battery last longer when on aware mode but lasts around 6 hours for noise cancelling.
Overall, what I do enjoy about this purchase when folding it, they don't feel like they would break as its easy falls into place When extending the headphone for head size it's slow, but it's nice as it prevents yanking it easily.
