For a few years we have been drinking the Premier protein drinks and loving them. The root beer float is my personal favorite. This time when I opened the caps there was a thick congealed layer at the rim. It was on the liquid line, and on the cap. I shook the bottles vigorously but the thickened portion was still evident as I drank the bottles. This thankfully has not happened in any other flavor. My coworker has taken to straining her rootbeer float flavor through a tea strainer to remove the lumps. My bottles do not expire until next year, so freshness is not an issue.

I’m usually so picky/grossed out by protein shakes but decided to try this one because I really need to get more protein in and the reviews say this brand tastes like milkshakes not protein drink.

OMG this was so good! Not too artificial tasting at all! It really tasted like the liquid part of a root beer float where the soda mixes with ice cream 🍨. Deelish! And very impressive macros/nutrients!

The root beer flavor is mild, but you can definitely taste the milky flavor coming through. I like it. I don't expect any protein drink to taste like a soda shop drink. These protein drink producers give us "flavor" varieties to help coverup the protein powders and the nutritional additives. So, really, why would anyone expect these protein drinks NOT to have those certain after tastes or chalkiness. I recommend Premiere Protein drinks, no matter what flavor. Just ordered another 12-pack.

I love the Premier Protein Shakes, favorite is Choc. & Winter Mint Choc. I've had other flavors, Vanilla, Carmel. I was very disappointed in this new flavor - Rootbeer Float. I took several drinks to give it a chance, but it was awful. This is not Sam's Clubs fault. But in my opinion, I would not recommend this flavor.
