This pot is great for a college environment, base doesn't get hot and it just plugs into a normal outlet. There is two temperature settings, medium and high, there is no low setting to be seen and you can really easily overcook a dish if you aren't being careful. Additionally the handle does get hot, it is not unbearable but it isn't comfortable if you have a low heat tolerance like me. The lid is relatively weak as well, it is held on by three nubs like are on the back of a picture frame which means it isn't a good idea to drain the pot using the lid as a stopper.
